What is Coin Flip?

Coin flipping is the oldest way to make a fair binary decision. With heads and tails each having a 50% chance, neither side has an advantage.

Toolzi's coin flip offers 5 skins, 3D animation, multi-coin flipping, and probability stats — turning a simple decision tool into a fun experience.

Is a Coin Flip Exactly 50/50?

Theoretically, the probability of heads or tails is exactly 50:50. Toolzi uses the browser's Math.random(), ensuring no bias toward either side.

However, flipping 10 times won't necessarily give you exactly 5 heads and 5 tails — this is called short-term variance. As you flip more, the ratio gradually approaches 50:50. This is the Law of Large Numbers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the result truly random?
Yes. It uses Math.random() for 50:50 randomness. All calculations happen in your browser — nothing is sent to a server.
Is the probability exactly 50%?
Theoretically yes, but short-term variance is normal. Over many flips, the ratio converges to 50:50.
Where is the result stored?
Results stay in your browser session only. Nothing is transmitted to any server.
Can I flip multiple times?
Yes. Use 1, 3, or 5 coin modes to flip multiple coins at once. Each flip is ready immediately after animation.
When should I use a coin flip?
Any binary choice — who goes first, what to eat, yes or no decisions, friendly bets.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. Fully responsive with touch support and optional haptic feedback.
Coin flip vs dice — what's the difference?
A coin gives 2 outcomes (heads/tails). Dice give more options. Use a coin for binary decisions, dice when you need a number.
