HEX

HEX — Standard for Web & Design

A 6-digit #RRGGBB code used widely in CSS, Figma, and Photoshop. The most universal color format.

RGB

RGB — Red, Green, Blue

Represents color as three values (0–255) for red, green, and blue. Intuitive for screen-based color work.

HSL

HSL — Hue, Saturation, Lightness

Describes color by hue (0–360°), saturation (%), and lightness (%). Great for fine-tuning colors intuitively.

Use Cases

Extract brand colors from logos, match palette colors for social media thumbnails, create consistent UI themes, or pick colors from reference photos.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many colors can be extracted from an image?
You can extract up to 10 colors. Choose between 5, 8, or 10 colors using the selector above the results.
Why are the extracted colors slightly different from the image?
The algorithm groups similar colors and picks a representative value for each cluster. This is intentional to give you a clean, usable palette.
Is my image uploaded to a server?
No. All processing happens entirely in your browser. Your image is never sent to any server.
Which color format should I use — HEX or RGB?
HEX is the most universal for CSS and design tools. Use RGB or HSL if you need to adjust colors programmatically.
What happens with transparent PNG images?
Transparent areas are treated as white during processing. This may affect extracted colors for images with heavy transparency.
Can I use this on mobile?
Yes. On mobile, tap the Choose File button to select a photo from your gallery and extract its colors.
